Preton Controls Printer Ink Usage To Save Printing Costs
Preton works from system tray. After the installation, you need to open Settings window from the system tray icon. Under Printer and Cost Setting, select your primary printer and printing cost for both monochromatic and coloured prints. Here, you can choose to set different settings for multiple Printers which are attached with your home network. For instance, if you want to get high quality prints from your secondary printer, select the printer from the list and disable ink optimization option. However, underneath it, the ink optimization levels for text, graphic and image are present to manipulate the Printer ink usage.
With each level, i.e Text, Graphic and Image, you can set ink usage saving strategy. For instance, if you want to print images with high brightness, click the button below Image to enable printing of images with increased brightness. Once the print saving settings are configured, from system tray menu, enable Prompt Before Printing option to get notifications about the printing requests. Preton works with following inkjet and laser jet models – Canon, HP, Epson, Xerox, and Lexmark. It runs on Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7. Versions for both 32-bit and 64-bit OS are available.
